@assailant85 : this test isn't testing the laptop but only the HDD! The only thing that Windows is doing when booting from hibernation is copying back the stored files (from the RAM before hibernation) to the RAM. So it depends on the size of the RAM and on the speed of the HDD.
2GB RAM + fast SSD -> fast boot
4GB + slow IDE HDD -> slow boot.

@JavaWithJiva : One thing you may want to check for is if XP supports TRIM on SSDs.  Also it looks like your system is now processor or maybe even memory bound with the SSD installed. 

I have an older Crucial M4 SSD installed on my system (128GB as well) on my older system (2008 AMD quad core) and it helps greatly.  I was hesitant spending over $100 for such an old system that itself was worth $100.  But the difference is amazing,  I keep my photos/videos/etc on a hard drive and use the SSD for the OS and programs.  With the SSD I think I could easily keep my system for another 3-4 years until it truly dies.
@jonathannicholson788 : Thanks for posting this! I've been mulling whether to upgrade my 1810T as well (Win 7, SU7300 chip) as well and was trying to figure out the technical difficulty level vs. potential payoff  equation. Doesn't sound like a huge payoff but after five years I'm worried about HD failure likelihood. The lappie itself is a trouper, with right-size keyboard and screen. One q: is the drive connected via ribbon or click-in pins? I assume I run less risk of fouling things up if the latter.

@dondonian5364 : does this laptop even support an SSD like AHCI or w,e? You should run AS SSD BENCHMARK. It will flat out tell you your read/write speeds
