다이아후램 밸브(Diaphragm valve): 유체가 흐르는 관 자체를 외부로부터 죄어서 열고 잠그는 방식.
다이아후램 밸브는 일명 위어밸브(Weir Valve)라고도 하며 주로 차단용의 블록 밸브(Block Valve)로 사용됩니다. 이 밸브는 유체가 점액 상태이거나 유체 속에 고형물질 또는 덩어리 등이 들어 있는 유체를 제어하는데 적당합니다.
다이아후램 밸브는 몸체의 유로를 수직의 선형 운동으로 차단하여 유체의 흐름을 제어하는 밸브로서 밸브의 주요 트림 재료로서 다이아후램(Diaphragm)을 채용하여 다이아후램 밸브라 부릅니다.
다이아후램의 시트면이 뚝(Weir)과 같은 모양으로 되어 있어 구동부는 다이아후램 뒷면에 부착된 누름판에 힘을 가하여 Weir 면에 밀착하여 완전 폐쇄되는 구조입니다.
다이아후램 밸브는 기본적으로 3가지 구성요소로 되어 있는데, 밸브몸체, 다이아후램 및 밸브 본네트로 구성됩니다.
이 밸브는 구조가 매우 간단하고 밸브 몸체의 트림부의 금속부를 유체로부터 완전히 격리시킬 수 있어 부식성 액체를 많이 취급하는 화학공장에 많이 사용됩니다.
다이아후램 밸브의 특성은 다음과 같습니다.
a) 밸브 몸통은 시트부를 포함 내식성이 좋은 PVC 또는 PP 재질로 많이 사용됨.
b) 부식성 액체에 대하여 높은 저항성을 갖음.
c) 탄성체 다이아후램 자체에 반복되는 휨으로 금이 가거나 또는 유체 중에 날카로운 끝을 갖는 이물질에 의해 찢어지는 일이 있음.
d) 물 처리 및 금속 접촉에 의해 오염될 위험성이 있는 액체를 취급하는데 적당함.

Manual or pneumatic operation, specifically for sanitary and aseptic processes in the pharmaceutical industry. This valve is ideal for fluid control and on/off tasks. The diaphragm provides a body seal and a seat seal. There is no path to the outside environment, so the diaphragm valve is suitable for aseptic processes. When the valve is closed, the pressure pad supporting the diaphragm moves toward the sealing surface on the valve body. As the
pressure plate moves, the diaphragm bends and is forced to the seat area in the center of the valve body, thus closing the fluid path to the valve body. The relationship between the valve body and the pressure plate prevents the compression of the diaphragm. The valve can be operated manually or pneumatically, or it can be controlled by a controller and solenoid valve.
