ABSjazz : I must say that this is the most grounded review I've seen on the 1 series. Loved the contrasting viewpoints. Showed the cool features, while also posing some pretty good questions as to why one would buy this. Great job guys.
T. Marvin : I have two of these. Black with add on grip from a third party maker which allows me to keep the grip on without removing it to replace the card or battery. The 10mm 2.8 is my favorite one and the FT01 adapter works well with any af-s lens including the Tamron 70-300mm VC. Single point focus only but this how I shoot most of the time anyway. Video other than the slo-mo is actually quite good. The 10-100mm lens is best for video.
SLRist : Given the current pricing since the release of the V2 (cheaper than the J1), getting a V1 was a no-brainer. I just ordered one and look forward to getting some great beach shots of the kids with it next summer. My X100 and D800 are great, but sometimes AF and frame rate performance are king.
Uno Engborg : If you use it for wildlife photography, you could use the crop factor to your advantage. You could take it to places where long bright telephoto lenses are too heavy to carry, and where you would need to crop say a 400/2,8 to about the same size as this cameras tiny sensor to get decent pictures. Even thogh the sensor is small, it have a lot of pixels per square meters. It uses the same battery pack as the D800, that you may use for landscape and macro stuff so you only need one charger.
Kyle Clements : Kai is right on the price drop. Not the V1, but I just picked up a J1 for 150 USD with 10-30mm kit lens. That is compact camera price territory, and IMO appropriate for this camera type. I would never buy a Nikon 1 for the original asking price, but for 150 it is a no brainer.

Sunny Lion : I'm using Nikon 1 V1 for about half a year. The kit 10-30mm lens is out of order and I had no plan to use it anyway, so I've bought the MANUAL LENS from AliExpress. The Manual lens f/1.8 gives much much better result, and more like the retro process couse it's fully manual for apertute, iso and exposure (for this point Olympus OM-D is MORE convinient and easier). Anyway if you're planning to use this V1 camera - buy manual lens (w/out adapters). Cheers
