Baby Learning With Ms Rachel - First Words, Songs and Nursery Rhymes for Babies - Toddler Videos

If your child is not meeting milestones, let your pediatrician know and call early intervention for your state. Your child may qualify for free or low cost therapies such as speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy. You can also contact a private speech therapist (speech language pathologist) for an evaluation. It’s best to act early and get your child help as soon as possible.

Gestures, which are shown to promote language development (Babies who use more gestures 9-16 months use more verbal language two years later) You can try for 16 gestures by 16 months old. 

Milestones such as clapping, waving, copying gestures, blow a kiss, point to one or more body parts, shaking head “no,” nodding “yes,” pointing with index finger, hold a toy and shake it, give a high five, quiet sign, smile at people, copy facial expressions like smiling and frowning, find hidden things easily, knows what things are for such as a telephone, brush and spoon.

Baby Learning with Ms Rachel - Baby Songs, Speech, Sign Language for Babies - Baby Videos

Have your baby practice milestones with a real teacher, Ms Rachel! Ms Rachel uses baby songs, nursery rhymes and play to show how to encourage speech and language development, cognitive skills and social emotional growth.

Take Ms Rachel’s Baby Test and see how many gestures your baby can do! Try to get 16 gestures by 16 months old. Ms Rachel will show and encourage 18 gestures in the first 10 minutes of this video that you can work on with your child. Then she will model speech development from infants to 15 months old. She will also model pretend play which is an 18 month old milestone. Throughout the whole video, other key milestones are taught through fun kids songs, rhymes and play! Speak with enthusiasm in a high sing-songy tone (parentese) 

Sing songs with your baby and sing songs with gestures like “The Wheels on the Bus” 

Soothe your baby when they are upset, pick them up when they cry 

Give appropriate, safe toys to explore 

Give your child lots of love and affection 

If your child is not meeting milestones, let your pediatrician know and contact early intervention for your state. If you qualify for early intervention, you can get therapies such as speech therapy and physical therapy. The sooner you get help, the better!
