Ultimate Penlight Showdown! Which LED Pen Flashlight is the best? - Answered!
Today we take a look at a large collection of LED Penlights. I’ll let you know which one I think is the best.
Bob : Hello from another penlight enthusiast. Thanks for the best penlight comparison on YouTube. I've had several penlights, but our collections don't overlap much. The pushbutton switch is usually the first point of failure. My original LD05 switch went flakey as it did in a few other lights. I like Streamlight products because they have provided replacement switches without a hassle. Loved Inova lights for years, but Nite-Ize (Inova) changed the tail switch on their most recent penlights and they are difficult to activate. Plus, my newest 2xAAA Inova light didn't work well with Eneloops. Lately, I've moved on from 2xAAA lights to 1xAAA lights and carry a spare battery. The 1xAAA lights fit my shirt pocket better and carrying a spare battery means I won't be surprised if the first battery dies. Have several Peak LED Eigers and Matterhorns. Have fun and keep up the great videos.
Mile High V - Justin B. : I have the updated version of that nightcore (MT06MD) and find it perfect fore what I need. Fire/Paramedic; the lowest setting (they claim 4 Lumens) works for checking pupils, the highest setting at 180 lumens is bright enough to light up a room, hallway, behind a building, etc. Also, it fits nicely in the pen pocket on my shoulder. Any idea if there is a similar light that would compete? Oh, I suppose it’s also fun that it has a pupil size chart on the side of it as well.
Only thing I’ve found a wee bit meh about it is that its lowest setting is perhaps a bit too bright for pupils. I suspect its brighter than the 4 lumens they claim.
Mcnuggatron : I bought the new hp3r on amazon. It's supposed to get here tomorrow. I don't know if I'm going to keep it or not, 8 hour battery life at 28 lumens seems unreasonably bad compared to something like the olight i5tr that can run at 15 lumens for 54 hours. The only reason i bought it was because i will be using it outdoors sometimes, so the superior throw of the coast is appealing to me. We shall see. Thanks for the video, lot of good options here
Chris Mason : Some very useful information on a wide variety of penlights. Thanks.
McFluff : bro this is exactly what I need. Thank you so much :)
Best Penlight For Doctors | In My Opinion
The best penlight for healthcare and for physicians / doctors in my opinion is the one I'm talking about in this video. When it comes to finding a good pen light to check the pupils, whether a pen light for ophthalmology or optometry, I think this one is excellent. It's super sturdy, waterproof, and has 3 different brightness settings on it it. I think it's the best light for doctors, nurses, EMS, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and anyone who wants to do a good pen light eye exam. Ive been through alot of bad penlights but it's important for me to have a good one as an ophthalmology resident. These are a couple really good ones I've found.
Lumintop Pen Light: https://amzn.to/2y49S6L
M Perez : Physicians Assistant here and my biggest issue with Penlight is I tend to give them away to the kids if they ask. The best one I used was the Larcam powerlight. Its bright but not uncomfortably bright for my patients.
Igor Lee : Hi. Almost the video I was looking for. I have the same opinion on the Nitecore brightness. I don't know why such a good light has a "high" low setting. It's pretty bright to the eye. The Lumintop is the option I would go with if I knew the brightness lumens on each mode. They don't provide it on their website. And that's very weird. Cause it's the most important part of the penlight. Now that I know it's low setting is good, thanks to your video, I have one more question if you could answer, please.
The nitecore has no blue light(harmful light). Is it the same with the Lumintop? Most of LED lights have the blue light, which is bad for eyes.
Thanks.
S HenryRNBSN : I like this guy. He makes me feel calm and as if he's someone I should trust. He's gonna make a great Doctor.
Elisha : I just use the one from Harbor Freight after losing too many of them. Heavy duty, cheap and always on sale.
SpaceFrawg : The rubber stick on thingy is a diffuser, it spreads the light out so instead of a hotspot, a concentrated spot of light, it disperses the beam to evenly light a wide area.
Fenix T6 Tactical Penlight Review
This is a review and field test of the Fenix T6 Penlight. This pen is often marketed and promoted as a 'tactical' pen with the included glass breaker and implied usefulness as a defensive implement.
This review illustrates some possible field uses of the light, including usefulness for tracking and admin work in Search and Rescue. I try to cover all aspects of usability including positive features and areas where the product is cumbersome to deploy. Hopefully, these issues will be addressed in a future product.
I have a very long background in private security, executive protection, law enforcement training, and defensive tactics. There are two chapters in the video on issues to consider regarding glass breaking and possible use of this product in defensive applications.
I hope you find the field tests and observations helpful in making a purchase decision. Thanks for your time and thanks for watching the video.

MarcusJS : Thank you for a great review. It was very helpful. Do you have a suggestion for a competitive offering that is superior to this? I am in the market for several pen/task lights that can be easily employed for hands free use (e.g., body-cab style, clip to ball cap) . Defensive use (PPCT or other) is a secondary concern.
TheFossilChannel : thanks for the video brother. Good review on this t6 pen. i may get one and do a review as well.
Stephen Valley : recently purchased Nebo 3 in one pen light + laser , Nebo big daddy , powerful but very heavy!! + I protec - very strong and tactical? any reviews on Nebo or ii protec? just wondering? they seem to be quite well put together!?
